About Me

Hi! I'm Stephanie. I'm now living in Eugene, Oregon, after a series of jaunts around the country and world, including Asheville, NC (where I lived for about five years) and Beijing, China (where I worked as an English Teacher for around a year and a half). I am a fibers and metals artist, as well as a crafter of various other persuasions. I also work as a Research Assistant for a Philadelphia-based non-profit consulting group. To buy my handspun, hand dyed yarn and weavings, see my Etsy shop!

This blog is mostly about showing off things I've made and places I've been and arranging a series of pretty pictures to my personal satisfaction.

I first learned to spin on a drop spindle while doing a Work Study at the John C. Campbell Folk School. I asked a very nice lady who was teaching a workshop about the craft, and she got me started in an evening. I've been addicted to all things wooly ever since. Thank you, nice Folk School Lady-I wish I remembered your name! I have AAS in metals and jewelry, but that's had to compete with a passion for fibers for some time now.

As they say, thanks for stopping by.

Oh, and--unattributed photos on here are mine; all others will have a linked source. Reciprocity in this matter is appreciated!

And why Milo Knows? The Phantom Tollbooth, my friends.
